Students During Break

Occupational Therapy Programmes

Our Occupational Therapist (OT), can develop group programmes in response to individual or group needs.

Come Dine With Me

This is a 6-week programme where our participants, with the assistance of our OT, will develop their life skills in preparing, cooking & serving a home cooked meal. Places limited; aged 12-18 years old.  Can be run on demand

Dance Class

Adaptive Dance

The goal of our Adaptive Dance troupe - besides having fun, of course — is for our participants to engage and explore movement and musicality, and to grow personally and socially in a safe environment.  Classes run fortnightly during term time.

Sociable Souls

Sociable Souls is for children aged between 8 and 12 to form relationships with their peers while also learning:

 

  • play skills

  • communication

  • turn taking

  • working together

  • identifying feelings

  • self-control

  • problem solving

  • self-regulation

  • caring about themselves and others.

 

The group runs in the Centre on a Saturday afternoon once a month with fun interactive activities to help forge and build each child’s social skills, led by Julie who is a teacher outside of DSCNE, and supported by our dedicated Support Worker Kathy. Teens Sports and Social Groups

The Sports and Social Group provides an opportunity for the teenagers to come together in a supportive and fun environment, led by Louise our Early Intervention Teacher, and Kathy our Support Worker, as well as volunteers.

​

 

The group runs in the Centre on a Saturday afternoon once a month and creates a space for the teenagers to develop meaningful friendships and explore a variety of age-appropriate activities.

​

 

At the group we offer a wide range of activities such as:

  • Badminton/ Table tennis

  • Board games

  • Ball games

  • Visits/trips

In this easy-going supportive group, the teenagers are encouraged to try out new activities in a safe space. For more information or to register your interest contact the Office.
